Bells and Bell Tower Fundraising

May 18th, St Mary’s Herriard Bell Restoration Concert

The Basingstoke District of the Bellringers Guild have arranged a charity concert on Friday 18th May 745pm to 930pm at All Saints Church, Basingstoke (Southern Road, Top of Town). This concert will raise funds for the Bell restoration project at St Mary’s Church, Herriard. The music will be provided by the Basingstoke Silver Band (BSB) and Kempshott Junior School Choir. We are very grateful for all the Bellringer’s fundraising. They have promised about £5000 and it would be good if we all can give them lots of support ! Report by John Jervoise.

Fundraising and planning for the repairs of the existing bells and adding 3 new ones are ongoing.

So far some £37,000 of the fundraising target of £40,000 has been raised.

The Basingstoke District of the Bellringers Guild has been doing a grand job in raising funds for the past nine months and has so far raised £4,200 towards its target of £5,000.

Other Money making schemes have involved collections at quarterly meetings, a summer barbecue and begging letters!  Look out for details of a silver band concert in May.
